"Canyon Moon" is the first track on Andrew McMahon in the Wilderness' debut LP. Andrew McMahon wrote on andrewmcmahon.com: “This song was written towards the end of my time in Topanga Canyon. I wanted to have something on the album with a real California flavor that spoke to the throwback qualities of living in the canyon. I remember going into the session with Kevin and Sam with California Dreamin as a reference track. Canyon moon is a story about a girl who loses herself in this idyllic, west coast fantasy world and has to get out. Read more on Last.fm.

Andrew McMahon in the Wilderness is the third musical project by Andrew McMahon, the former lead singer of Something Corporate and Jack's Mannequin. McMahon announced the moniker in a blog post in July 2014, stating, "as I embark on yet another musical adventure, I will be traveling with my band to many of those same stages, this time as “Andrew McMahon in the Wilderness”. I suppose my wilderness is mostly an abstract one. Since putting Jack’s behind me, I have forced myself into strange spaces seeking new stimulus..." The first song recorded under the moniker, 'Cecilia and the Satellite', received official radio play on the 17th July 2014. An album is expected to follow. Read more on Last.fm.
